Waxing Gibbous Moon

Waxing Gibbous Moon

Finally at the final stages of a project I’ve been working on for about 6 months. This is the rough draft of a 4 part mosaic of the moon, combined with a longer exposure of the un-illuminated side, totaling nearly 12Gb of raw images of the moon. The final image resolution will be 3500×3500, and 1 pixel on the moon will represent a few kilometers of the actual moon. The reason this took 6 months to finish was that I could only take pictures when the moon was the right phase (about once a month). Oh and theres the problem of having to sort through 12Gbs of data. There are still some errors to fix, but this is pretty much the final product. Here is a link to the full resolution version:  http://www.astrobin.com/full/56838/0/?mod=none&real
